VICTORY. - Week 1
Week 1 Recap:
Walking in Victory: A Call to Contend for the Faith
Introduction: Life often feels like a battlefield, filled with struggles that challenge our faith, our mindset, and our ability to stand firm. Yet, as believers, we are called not only to fight but to fight from a place of victory. This is the message behind our new series: Victory—a reminder that in Christ, we have already won. In this blog, we’ll explore how we can embrace this truth, contend for our faith, and live victoriously every day.
The Power of Themes - Binge on the Word: We live in a world where binge-watching is second nature. Whether it's the latest Netflix series or a documentary about nature’s fiercest predators, our minds crave continuity. The same principle applies to our spiritual growth. By immersing ourselves in a theme, we allow God’s Word to shape our thinking and actions. This year, our focus is The Promises of God—a deep dive into His faithfulness and the assurance that He always keeps His word. Our devotional, inspired by Charles Spurgeon, will help us internalize these truths daily.
Armor Up: The Key to Daily Victory: The Bible speaks of the Armor of God as the ultimate defense against the challenges we face. Ephesians teaches us to put on truth, righteousness, peace, faith, salvation, and the Word of God. These aren’t just metaphors; they are the spiritual tools God provides so that we can fight from victory, not for victory. When we equip ourselves with this armor, we prepare our minds, bodies, and spirits to face life’s battles with confidence.
Contending for the Faith - A Fight Worth Engaging In: Jude’s letter reminds us that our faith is worth defending. He writes, “I found it necessary to write appealing to you to contend for the faith that was delivered to the saints once for all.” (Jude 1:3). Contending for the faith isn’t about arguing or debating; it’s about standing firm in truth despite the world's attempts to distort it. Many believers struggle with doubts, hardships, and external pressures that shake their faith. Yet, we must remember: our battle is hand-to-hand, a daily grappling with the lies of the enemy. Victory comes when we hold on to God’s truth.
The Ultimate Conqueror - Jesus Christ: Who conquers the world? John answers, “The one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.” (1 John 5:5). Our victory is not rooted in self-effort or personal wisdom—it is found in Jesus alone. When we put our trust in Him, we overcome every struggle, every fear, and even death itself. This is why we don’t just proclaim the good news; we live in it. Jesus has given us the power to stand against every force that seeks to bring us down.
The Call to Action: Stand, Fight, and Proclaim: Living victoriously means more than just believing—we must act. Over the next few weeks, we will:
Immerse ourselves in God’s promises through devotionals and small group discussions.
Put on the Armor of God and train ourselves in righteousness.
Contend for the faith by rejecting false teachings and standing on biblical truth.
Share the good news boldly, knowing that in Christ, we are already conquerors.
Conclusion: Victory is not a distant hope; it is our present reality. Jesus has secured it for us, and our role is to walk in it daily. If you feel weak, uncertain, or defeated, remember: you have already won. Let’s stand together, arm ourselves with truth, and proclaim that Jesus is Lord. Join us each week as we dive deeper into this journey, and let’s claim the victory that is already ours.
Are you ready to fight from victory? Let’s do this together.
